About Wayne
Wayne studied ag education at the University of Minnesota in St. Paul, and received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1975; in 1985 he received his Master of Arts. He began his farm management education career in Adams, MN, where he stayed four years. In 1979, Wayne started farming with his parents and brother. One thing led to another, and four years later he returned to teaching for Riverland in LeRoy. In 2003, he and his family moved back to the farm he was raised on. Wayne now also works with students in the Plainview area. Wayne's interests include his family, reading, writing and fixing things around the house. His Township Roads articles can be read on www.townshiproads.com. Wayne is a member of the National Farm & Ranch Business Management Education Association, Inc. (NFRBMEA), serving as its Membership Secretary and Co-Editor of the NFRBMEA newsletter, NUTS & BOLTS, from 1993 -2008. He also served as the organization's 2009-10 President. Wayne and his wife Deb have three sons: Bob is a diesel truck mechanic; Matt is a landscaper; and Ted is in sales & marketing. In October 2009 Bob married Gretchen, so now they also have a beautiful daughter-in-law.
